When we clean my baby (3 years) ear with cotton towel, the ear drum got damaged (small hole. We consulted a ent specialist and advised us to apply ear drops to make the ears clean. After a while we again consulted her and she told I am not able to see the ear drum ,due to the wax not removed. Shall I use soliwax drops when the ear drum has small hole and covered with wax?

Dear lybrate-user, please do not use soliwax or other oily preparations for wax removal, instead use a preparation having sodium bicarbonate by whichever trade name it comes.

To clean / removal of wax it's important that the wax softens. Please put drops but remember that syringing of ear should not be done to remove wax (since you mentioned that the child had a hole)

I would prefer child first get treatment with anti inflammatory first, it could be wax that which is covering the eardrum or it could be ear canal swelling not letting drum get visualized please visit ent once again in person, get a good otoscopy done if she has had a hole recently - less than 4-8 weeks, please do not use any ear drops at all for wax.
