My grandfather is 80 years old and has dementia. Couple weeks ago he fell down his bed and injured his knee and since then my uncle keeps him bedridden (without any treatment) and he always keeps his knees folded if anyone even touches it he screams in pain. Due to this he started having bed sores and which have become very severe because those are not healing properly. And also his feet are always swollen ,like they become double the size and has become seriously underweight (45 kg) within a month. My uncle thinks it's not necessary for him to be admitted to a hospital, what should I do in this case?
