Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant. My doctor told me to have folic acid tablets before 5 month of conception. I used to take it but not regularly, I used eat for a month and then forget to eat, the next month. So, I was irregular in eating the tablets. Someone, told me that folic acid, helps in baby's brain development, so I am worried, whether my irregular eating of folic acid tablets will affect my baby's intelligence or in brain development?

Hi. Folic acid supplementation help to overcome it's deficiency. It has been shown to protect baby from certain birth anomalies. If you have been eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables .no need to worry.
