I have been experiencing itchy skin for like a week or two now, I am unaware if I have any allergies BUT im aware they can just kind of develop whenever. So my question is if I take an anti histamine and the itching stops does that infact mean that I am experiencing allergies? My GP has already suggested I get a blood test done to check for diabetes/liver function and thyroid etc already.

Hydrocortisone. An anti-itch cream is another common way to soothe itchy skin. Get an anti-itch cream that contains at least 1 percent hydrocortisone. This drug inhibits inflammatory responses in the body and can help calm inflamed, itchy skin.

Yes you r experiencing allergy. It can be temporary. May be you came in contact with some substance you r allergic to. When effect of that allergen reduces, you might become alright.
