HI, Does ear aid arrest further deteriorating of audibility? Why development of hearing aids is not prescribed like glasses for eyes so that one can take prescription to buy hearing aid as per to ones liking & budget? Hearing aids are exorbitantly or ridiculously costly. It seems they are made for rich or upper middle class people and not for lower middle class people or lower. Why so?

Hi Hearing aids in other way does the same thing like glasses, Few types of Glasses just magnifies the images that you see. Same like hearing aids amplifies the sounds that comes to you. AT the same time the mechanism of hearing aids are a bit complicated than glasses hence its cost also varies, More complicated the hearing aid is the more will be its cost. The hearing aid that is visible out side is cheaper compared to the smaller ones which are invisible. In that way hearing aids will cost around few thousands to few lakhs.
