No it does not arrest deteriation. It just increases the frequency of sound recived so it become audible to us.

Do you have the pre-surgical report .If not how can you compare the report you are getting now .Did you talk with your ENT how much better it will be after surgery .If not then now go for audiometry, if the result is more towards sensorineural hearing loss then go for hearing aids and the healing process takes approx. 3 months. So wait for 3 months.

Analog hearing aids are simple hearing aids that do only amplification of sound but digital hearing aids converts the sound signals into digital codes and that can be processed, this helps the audiologist to fit the hearing aid according the hearing loss and requirements of the patient.
Digital hearing aids are better in sound quality and noise reduction.
Analog hearing aids are cheaper than digital hearing aids.

No eating precautions. Ea Healthy food.
Don't use mobile for longer duration. Give break in between for half hour, if you need to talk for more than 20-30 minutes.

Neurosensual hearing loss after a stage can not benifit by hearing aids. Better consult a audilogist and neurologist.

Usually Government schemes only offer body worn and manual BTE devices which are practically obsolete!
RIC type (receiver-in-the-canal) or ITC (in-the-canal) or CIC (completely-in-canal) are more expensive sophisticated Digital Multichannel hearing aids.
The better hearing aids start at ₹20,000 per ear and go on to almost ₹4,00,000 per ear for the top of the line super-concealed nano-technology hearing aids!

It cannot be measured but certainly your quality of life improves as well as your family members are benefitted.
