Hi SAlman................... i will suggest you some natural tips for the same............ Fact- You cannot stop it instantly. Its a messed up brain situation. To get out of it you need to fix some stuff in your brain. Some chemicals need to be altered with better and efficient chemicals. And this takes time. Because at the end, you just have to be able to change your outlook towards the stimuli. One thing you could do is stay away from the things which induce the anxiety in the first place. You could observe it for yourself, the things or a particular situation which make you panic. You could start meditating. Has helped me to some extent. Concentrate on your breathing. This will help you calm yourself down, and also it will be less likely that you become afraid of the sensations that cause your panic. Become self aware. Try doing Yoga. If not yoga, exercise. Stay active. Stay away from stimulants or suppressants like alcohol, caffeine, cigarette, diet pills etc. Avoid interaction with people using text. Talk to them face to face as much as possible. If you feel no one is actually there to hear you out, get to know new people and interact with them. Explore ways to find them, and build supportive relations. Get enough rest. Resting does not mean 8 hours of laying down with eyes closed. That is sleeping. Rest while you sleep. If you think you haven't rested enough in 8 hours, rest more. If you think you only need 4 hours of rest, then that's fine. But rest. When you want to rest, take deep breaths for some time at the start and then shut your eyes. People don't find any difficulty sleeping while they want to rest. They just need a place to fall asleep into. Consider treatment. Being anxious or panicky sometimes is normal. It can turn out to be a disorder if there are repeated panic attacks, combined with change in behavior or persistent anxiety. Treatment involves medication which usually involves antidepressants. Ahh, panic. That feeling like the entire world is about to end. The feeling that everything is crumbling down on you. That sensation of impending doom. A doom you wouldn?t wish on anyone for any reason. Like a lion chasing you, teeth bared. But there?s no lion. Like getting pushed off the edge of a cliff into an abyss. But there?s no cliff. Primal fear. Pure, primal fear. The funny thing is anxiety and panic are wired into us to help save us from dangers. But given technology has evolved to the point where panic is largely unnecessary for most of us, our body hasn?t adapted fast enough to stop panic from coming. For some of us, given the ?unnatural? lifestyle a lot of us live, we tend to nosedive into mental unwellness due to repression, trauma, or not coping with a certain lifestyle. I rambled on quite a bit there. My intention wasn?t just to ramble, I just wanted to point out to you that panic is a natural body response. The thing is, we?re panicking for no real reason. This creates a sense of extreme discomfort and agitation. The key to stopping an oncoming panic attack: Don?t TRY to mentally stop a panic attack. Instead, just try to keep acknowledging in your mind that ?this is just panic, im ok? over and over. It gets hard, but cement that thought into your mind. ?it?s just panic, it?ll be over soon, i?ll be ok? Deep Breathing: Oh, look, another person telling me to breathe deeply. Yes, because it WORKS! So when you panic, your body naturally hyperventilates, which means you start breathing shallow breaths from your chest. Instead, try focusing on breathing in for 4 seconds deep into your abdomen. Hold it for a couple of seconds, then breathe out slowly. This slows the panic response down considerably. Please note, this is NOT EASY. Practice breathing deeply regularly when you aren?t panicking to truly master this technique. Be aware of your surroundings: Look around you and point out with your mind what you see. You can even say it out loud. ?Green chair. Blue Wall. Black Curtain. Brown pencil. Purple tissue box.? You get the point. It?s to keep your mind focused on the present, and to convince your subconscious that you aren?t under a real threat. Cold water: Splash it on your face and neck. This gives your body a slight shock that might slow down the panic response. So if all of these are done together, or two of these at least, with some practice panic will become more and more manageable. Now, I?ll add some of my personal tips to completely rid yourself of chronic panic attacks. This is from personal experience. I?ll keep this short because its already an essay, but if you need further advice, comment on this post and I?ll happily help. Exercise. It might be a struggle, but do it. I can?t stress this enough. Moderate exercise, don?t do vigorous. Stop Caffeine, that stuff makes you jittery and much more prone to adrenaline bursts and panic. Stop Alcohol, even one beer creates feelings of unease when the alcohol wears off and can induce anxiety. Learn Meditation, anything like tai chi or zen or some types of yoga. Make sure you learn a mindfulness technique type of meditation. Talk about deep seated issues you may have. It could be with an online friend, or a therapist. Let out your emotions on a regular basis. Try not to repress what you feel, or it would fester and come back to bite you. I hope this helps you on your life?s journey!Â
