I am 20 years old. I am having superficial duodenal ulcers. Along with my regular ulcer medicines, doctor prescribed me Alprax 0.25. Why did he prescribe me a sedative? Can it cause side effects? How long should I use them?

IT USED WHEN PROBLEMS IN SLEEPING AT NIGHT DUE TO ULCER. BUT DO NOT USE IT IN LONG TIME. TAKE TAB. PANTAPRAZOLE 40 MG BEFORE MEAL TWICE A DAY FOR 30 DAYS. SYP. DIGENE 15 ML 15 MINUTES BEFORE MEAL DAILY THRICE A DAY FOR 30 DAYS. TAB. MEFTAL SPAS SOS IF PAIN IN ABDOMEN. EAT MORE FIBER MEAL, AVOID OILY, SPICY,FATTY FOODS, IF NOT OK THEN CHECKUP CBC, BLOOD SUGAR, LFT, ENDOSCOPY OF UPPER ABDOMEN. AND CONSULT AGAIN. THANKS.
