First time I suffered from unconsciousness in 2002 around my pre-boards. The doctor prescribed epilepsy chrono 200 mg with folvite after ct scan and eeg, the reports of both of which were normal. The medicine was discontinued after some time. The fit recurred during exams later and we consulted another doctor. The doctor prescribed desval er 500 mg and told that I should not take stress, must take a full night's sleep and not to get up from bed all of a sudden. He asked to continue the medicine. Later on he decreased the dosage but it recurred in 2004 once again when the board exams were near. The doctor then asked to continue with desval 500 mg which I was continuing till 2018. Since I am married now and we are planning to start a family I consulted another doctor once again who advised to lower the dosage gradually. Kindly guide whether this medicine is safe for pregnancy and during conceiving. If not what should be the safer alternative and if I can discontinue this altogether.
