I am 22 years old male with refractive error in my both eyes. My eye prescription indicates the following 'Auto-refractometer' reading Right Eye: SPH -0.50, CYL -4.25, Axis 180. Left Eye: SPH -0.50, CYL -5.50, Axis 176. Actually, I got an offer letter of appointment from some reputed organization which will be confirmed after my medical examination. Here are their acceptable conditions "the total amount of myopia (including the cylinder) shall not exceed -4.00 D" Visual Acuity must be within '6/9 with or without glasses So, please tell me that whether I would be eligible for their medical standards or not? How they check and measure that '-4.00 D' reading, if SPH and CYL, both readings are different? Is there anything like spherical equivalent term used in this?
