The skin on my toes (especially between the toes) is getting very dry and is getting peeled off at times. There are small bumps on this at times which is also itchy sometimes. I used candid b cream and it improved the condition but when the medicine is stopped, it appears again. What is the treatment for this? Is it contagious? I am a breastfeeding mother. Kindly suggest medicine which is safe in breastfeeding.

It usually occurs between the two smallest toes. This form of athlete's foot can cause itching, burning, and scaling and the infection can spread to the sole of the foot. Athlete?s foot is very contagious, especially in damp common areas such as spas, saunas, and locker rooms. Walking barefoot in these areas can increase your risk of developing athlete?s foot. Other risk factors include: having diabetes sharing clothes and shoes wearing tight-fitting shoes not changing socks regularly Most cases of athlete?s foot are easily treated with over-the-counter (OTC) antifungal creams and powders, as well as making sure you keep your feet clean and dry. However, if the infection comes back, you may need a prescription antifungal medication.
