Doctor I am 21+weeks pregnant in my tiffa scan my baby has a echogenic focus on intra cardiac and no other soft markers and my double marker and NT scan is also very good what are the meaning of no other soft marker and is there any problem for the baby's heart and is there any abnormalities in the baby.

Don'��t worry. An isolated soft marker like echogenic intracranial focus (EIF) does not increase the risk of aneuploidy and should not be considered significant unless other abnormalities are present. EIF is usually left sided, is present in 4% of foetuses but it may be found in approximately 30% of Asian individuals .It is not associated with any structural or functional abnormality of the heart.
