Most often, chalazion go away without treatment after a few weeks to a month. To help the cysts heal, you can apply warm compresses to your affected eyelid for 10 to 15 minutes at least four times a day ? this treatment may soften the hardened oils in the cysts, helping them to drain.Sometimes, as a last resort, surgery is performed. The eyelid is injected with a local anesthetic, a clamp is put on the eyelid, then the eyelid is turned over, an incision is made on the inside of the eyelid, and the chalazion is drained and scraped out with a curette.
