So I did holter monitor and it shows sinus tachycardia. When I eat medicines I'm fine for few hrs then tachycardia starts again and again. Highest was 147 and many times it was 120+. I have done all tests for secondary cause. I'm 23 now I'm taking metoprolol 125 mg, 50 mrng 50 night and 25 in eve, amlodipine 10 mg, losartan 50, prazosin 5 mg, diltiazem 90sr and so on .I have high BP and tachycardia since 2012 but now situation got worsen any guidance will be helpful. I'm going to see my cardiologist on Monday but some doctors online suggested electrophysiological study also. Please give you guidance.

Dear Ankit as I see you do have a problem with Wt. your BMI is around 33. I understand you are 5 feet and 2 inches. and you are on multiple medications for hypertension. Your p>p> thyroid gland must have been checked for hypo or hyper function. EP studies will give idea about the initiation of cardiac rhythm but if Ecg and the holster says you have ONLY sinus tachycardia I have my doubts how will ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL STUDY help you. we know that your heart has faster sinus rhythm. there is no abnormal rhythm. Though I do not have your records.

Dear lybrate-user. BP seems to be on higher side occasional. Reason of tachycardia can be due to thyroid or anxiety as well. Your BMI is high as per your age. You need to see your lifestyle. May be your lifestyle is sedentary and unhealthy diet. So if this is the reason improve your lifestyle.
