If a mother passes her HCV positive to born baby what are the chances for surviving the baby And please give advise what should we do as she is only 2 months pregnant we got married in 2010 and having a son of 6 years of age.

If mother is hcv +ve then there are 1 in 25 chance of transmitting the infection to the baby .you can get your wife's hcv RNA qualitative test .if low or -ve then chances of transmission of infection is very low. Once the baby is born he is tested for hcv infection at 12-18 months.
