I have undergone lower semi impacted wisdom tooth extraction during surgery the wisdom tooth that was being extracted broke into pieces so my oral surgeon removed the pieces & stitched that area but I feel that a teeth piece is still left inside that stitched area how can I find out if there is a teeth piece in or no?

The easiest way to find out is to get an x-ray, IOPAR (INTRA oral periapical radiograph) but also I would like you to know usually the impacted tooth is extracted by sectioning it into pieces and sometimes a small portion of the root breaks during this procedure. And in case bleeding is more while doing this (surgeon takes decision based on the xray and field of extraction site) if the nerve canal is in proximity to the root, a small 0.5-1 or 2 mm root is left inside and the extraction socket is cleaned and stitched. Also a very small root piece being left, over the years resorbs uneventfully. So need not worry about it. Hope this answers your query.
