Hello Root canal can be finished in single sitting provided there is no active infection in the tooth but cap cannot be placed on the same day as the measurement is taken and sent to the lab which takes 3-4 days to fabricate the cap. Regards

Hello Lybrate user, yes single sitting root canal is possible, but not in every case. Cases involving long term infection requires two or three dressings that means more than 2 appointments. After root canal we usually let the tooth heal be completely asymptomatic, than only it's better to place crown. So ask your dentist in your case single sitting root canal is possible or not. If possible at least wit for 7 days before placing the crown or cap. Hope this helps.
