This sudden pain is due to internal muscle spasm. Some times edema in between muscle tissue also there which causes catching pain on breathing or movement of the body. It causes holding of breath also. The causes for this is lifting weight, long continued travelling, climate changes, improper sleep position, sleepless night, fall .etc. Take Rhus tox 200 thrice daily for 3-4 days before food. Mag phos 6x tab 3 for three times for 3-4 days. It will do good.
