anything when done in proper way and proper frequency is beneficial. same thing when done excessively results in bad effects . if you are a beginner then start by contracting yo muscle for 5 sec n relax ....repeat this for 10 times ...and then depending on your comfort you can increase the time n number of reps. exercise should always be done keeping in mind that it should be comfortable to your body .
