I am having clutter of blood clot around 2 inch in my below calf area in leg. This is present since 18 years ,I got hurt while climbing a ladder though there is no problem with it. Please suggest which doctor to get consult to get it examined i.e a general physician or a skin specialist? or Ortho.

Hi, as you mentioned about your problem, medical term for it is ecchymosis, as it is their from last 18 years post injury, leg bruising that occurs from trauma and bruising that may be linked to underlying diseases, 1 is their any medication you are taking from long time, then you need consultation from a general physician to change dosage of medication, if you are not taking any medication then you need to follow some management treatment therapy :- Apply ice to the area (on daily basis 3-4 times) Elevate the legs when sitting or sleeping if varicose veins is a problem. Avoid prolonged standing as this allows the blood to further pool in the legs. Use compressions stockings balanced diet as some blood clotting disorders may be linked to nutritional deficiencies if you have any questions you can ask.
