There are many factors that may have influenced this gay mindset. It could be due to genetic factors; mixed parenting roles between mother and father; an over-bearing father/mother; you may have cultivated the drive when we are all in that phase between 7 years to 14 years when we tend towards homosexual contacts with our peers as a social adaptation; You may have had gay exposure at some time in your life; you may have had too much of male exposure during a considerable part of your life; You could have cultivated more of anima than animus and vice versa depending on the role you have identified with; and it may happen because of some social development when you may have found it easier to relate to boys than to girls. These are some of the reasons that I can think of right now. If you do not like it, don’t just resist it because that will make you want it more. Instead talk to a sexologist and understand these orientations and get some education on sex and sexuality to know what your urges are all about. Then he could propose some measures to take to cultivate your heterosexual drives instead. In the meantime, do spend time with girls and learn to enjoy their company and to respect them overall. If you indulge in the thought of your attraction towards boys it will trouble you no end. Just let it be there but cultivate healthy relationships with them and spend more time in female company. In time you will be able to appreciate your leanings towards girls more. If you wish you may go for hypnotherapy too.
