From past few days My left testicle became hard associated with pain in spermatic cord. Due to lack of proper specialist in my work place, and upon the recommendation of a RMP I took ultrasound which revealed that there is no tumour. Spermatic cord got swollen and so is epididymis. He prescribed me cefixime 400 mg for 1 week. I took two of them and symptoms were almost relieved except mild pain. When I searched online it was written cefixime is no longer recommended and if it is used it should be used with some other anti biotic like azytromicin or Doxycycline. I don't know whether to continue the course or not. Please advise.

Dear lybrate-user, Please complete the course of Cefixime. You have responded to Cefixime, and that is all that matters. Please remember to wear some sort of scrotal support or tight underwear as you may have pain for a few more days. Wear the support for 6 weeks and avoid cycling or riding a scooter or motorcycle for this time.
