I have moles on my body, on chest and shoulders. I consulted a near by doctor, he said these moles are normal, no need to worry, but it won't go. He said moles are permanent. But after 1 year I realized that moles on my body are increasing in number. I got a couple of moles even on my back now. So, is it still normal? Why my moles are increasing in months? Is it ok to ignore? Or is something serious?

Dear Lybrate user Moles on Indian skin type are most likely to be benign and cause no harm. If there is a family history of skin cancer (melanoma) then it is advisable to visit a dermatologist once in a year for check up. If there is a sudden change in the size, borders and colour of the moles then you can show a dermatologist. There is no treatment to stop them from coming. These are usually hereditary.
