Hello lybrate-user
your doctors advice is right
ativan and lonazep both are benzodiazepines which cause dependence. Meaning you can get addicted to them.
In the long term the addiction will result in memory disturbances, gait disturbances etc which you must avoid right now.
Reduce it slowly over two months but do reduce it.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
I have gone through the details given. I only understand that you had diabetes and have been taking Insulin for controlling blood glucose. But now there is no high glucose. However, there are no details about present glucose levels, (fasting or PP) or HbA1c%. So I am unable to comment or give any opinion on the present situation. Thanks.
