Asthma can usually be managed with rescue inhalers to treat symptoms (salbutamol) and controller inhalers that prevent symptoms (steroids). Severe cases may require longer-acting inhalers that keep the airways open (formoterol, salmeterol, tiotropium), as well as inhalant steroids.

The medicine is found to have slight risk in pregnancy but in your case the benefits outweigh the risk as your cough if not improved can be more harmful to the baby. Continue with the advice and also take saline gargles or steam inhalation.

Kindly get a chest x-ray. Avoid contact with dust, pollen, cover your nose and mouth always when exposed to smoke dust. Keep your self warm in cold climate or when ever the weather is changing from hot to cold. Take anti histamine in such conditions if breathless persist steroid inhaler will help.
