Dear Abhishek,
By itself binaural beats may not help fully. But along with Venlift 150 mg, it may help to further becoming alert. However no harm in trying it.
You can try other treatment like rTMS and cognitive enhancement therapy.

1.use deep breathing
deep breathing is another effective way to relieve stress and anxiety. It helps you with physical symptoms such as shallow breathing and rapid heart rate, and it also helps with controlling your thoughts. When you practice deep breathing, you're forced to take your thoughts off of whatever is causing you anxiety and to focus on the breathing technique that you are using.

I totally understand that you are having difficulty with your sleep with your current medications. Sleep can have an immense effect on your mood and it is imperative that you change your medications with consultation from your prescribing doctor. I also believe that the quality of your sleep has a lot to do with your daytime routine and it does help if you could explain your sleep in detail with your psychiatrist. With regards to your medications, quetiapine and stilnoct are two entirely differe...more

I am suffering from cannabis induced psychosis from 8 years. See I am really stressed and depressed in my life. I hear voices which bully me, I see people talking about me and all things. I am educated about symptoms but not getting a treatment. Please I need treatment. Will anyone help. Escitalopram, venlafaxine, fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, oleanz plus, lurasid. All done on me. I gave every medicine enough time. I mean to every medicine a year. And every single medicine I mentioned gave me panic attacks, heavy eyes, heavy head. Please understand me I blindly followed every psychiatrist I visited but what will I do when the medicine gives me relaxation for 1 week, than headache starts, after that heavy head and sometimes panic attack. After that my doctor says its due to anxiety, I still take it, than a worst panic attack comes. Than I take etizolam, than paroxetine starts than the same thing repeats after sometime. From last 5 years, I am in a circle of my health. Crying.

These are all psychotic symptoms and need not only medication but also intense psychotherapy. If you have not tried therapy, you are likely to get worse and suffer unnecessary disturbances. So now you need not follow therapy blindly because you will be taught tools, skills, and techniques to help you deal with the psychosis. This is a difficult path but it is clearly the best way to sort out your problems effectively. There is no doubt that this disease is debilitating but you must persevere not...more

Hello, I am 51 years male and an Engineer, a patient of Anxiety and panic disorder since last 16 years and under the treatment of an eminent psychiatrist in Kolkata and he used to treat me with different dozes of Paroxetine and after some years, different dozes of Deveniz. Since last 06 months I am suffering severe panic disorder in every morning after waking up from sleep due to extremely rough and rude behaviour of my immediate boss almost on every day due to minor reasons probably due to some pre accumulated anger against me which caused me severe anxiety and panic disorder in almost every morning before going to the duty. The symptoms are burning sensation in hands and legs, sweating and headache and vomiting tendency. I have told my doctor and after two times medication changing he prescribed me Pexep-CR-25x 02 tablets, Venla- XR-75 and Venla-XR-150 mg and Betacap -TR-40-one tablet daily and suggested to keep Zapiz-0.25 mg for taking it on sos basis and the fact is that in spite regular using of those medicines since last one month not very much improvement I have found and that thing has been reported to my Doctor by sms and he suggested for waiting and using this medication as per his advice before revisit to him in the next month. Now much question is, Are my treatment is going on on the right track? Besides medication, do I need any more therapy like counselling by psychologist? One thing, I have to say that I am residing alone in my working place which is a remote area and my family i.e my wife with two sons, elder one being 01st years medical student and younger one class Ix student and they are residing at a place which is near about 02 hrs distance from my working place and I will normally visit my family after 15 days interval.

Diagnosed as Moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. Hello, From last 11 years I have been suffering with Morning drowsiness, Fatigue & day time sleepiness for 15 days per month where I work more (mental and physically). From last 1 year, I thought to fight against it as I am unable to do my daily routines with this problem and hence I consulted NIMHANS, Bangalore and they came to conclusion that Depression and started T. Venlafaxine 225mg. I undergone sleep study (polysomnography) and finally it came as Moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. Respiratory Distress Index is 28/hr. The doctor said that brain is awakening many times though you are not waking at night due to which I am unable to relax fully and hence the fatigue and day time sleepiness. Does this Sleep apnoea can show as more fatigability, drowsy, morning sleepy when I do more work? Whats the relation between more work and next day drowsy if I have daily sleep apnea, does the body need more rest during more work and hence the problem is being faced at heavy mental work? why this problem cant be neurasthenia as that also occurs at when more mental & physical work is done? The doctors saying that I need to go for CPAP titration and then to CPAP machine. Over internet I read that oral based appliance is also being used for Sleep apnea, which one is best, user friendly and cost effective? Can I be fully normal after using CPAP machine as I being diagnosed as psychiatric until now?

I am in depression and a lot of exam stress as I am a medical pg aspirant and a doctor, I am using few medications, bupropion 300 mg, lamotrigine 200 mg, venlafaxine 37. 5 mg, aripiprazole 5 mg, pacitane 2 mg, rabeprazole and ondansetron, these r prescribed drugs by a psychiatrist but I myself take. Few medications since 4 years to help with my studies, stimulants (legal ones) to be specific, modafinil 200 mg, selegiline 5 mg, caffeine 220 mg, and the problem now is I never smoked in my life, although I used to drink one year before, only one year I used to drink, was a social occasional drinker and never had cravings and have been alcohol free since a year, but now although I never smoked before, I feel like smoking to relieve my stress despite taking so many drugs, I am still suffering, feel like crying and lack of motivation to study unless I take stimulants, so smoking cravings without even smoking ever before is my problem, I don't know why?, I was maybe a bit influenced by looking at movies and my friends all around me who smoke whenever they r stressed out, which helps with them actually, maybe I thought smoking a bit might relieve stress and make me motivated a bit so I start studying again, can any psychiatrist can help me with this problem? And explain why I am having cravings ?(note: the bupropion I am using is for depression not for smoking cessation), please help me find a solution, I would take a consult as well if somebody who r addiction specialist who can help me with my problem and explain what I am going thru, thank you.

Its probably due to social learning from your intimate environment where you would have seen people taking about/ experiencing stress and smoking simultaneously. Other probable reason is the use of stimulants which usually provokes tolerance with time and as you are taking stimulant at a fixed dose so the brain might have demanding for some stimulant and it knows that nicotine is one of them. I believe you are on a cocktail of medications both self prescribed and self medicated, the latter ones ...more
