As such it is safe for him to take that.
But as his age is quite young, please ask the consultant to reduce it dose on the basis of improvement.
Or else on the other side you can start Homoeopathic treatment side-by side so that, it can be cured sooner by both medications.

And I would prefer that those allopathic medicines should be stopped in tappering manner not suddenly.
