About Vagacyte 450mg Tablet
An antiviral drug, Vagacyte 450mg Tablet is given to adults to treat CMV infection of the eye and also CMV infection that occurs post organ transplant surgery. It functions by stopping the multiplication of viral cells in the body.
Notify your doctor as soon as possible on experiencing any allergic reaction that causes you pain and discomfort. Common side effects include seizures, skin paleness, fatigue, fever, chills, abnormal bleeding, pain when swallowing, swelling, lightheadedness, breathlessness, dry cough, weight loss, kidney disorders, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, sore throat, difficulty urinating, tremors, high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat.
Avoid using this medication if you are allergic to it. Before using this medication notify your doctor if you have kidney or blood cell disorder, you are taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs, you are allergic to any food or medicine or substance, you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant or are nursing a baby.
The usual dose in adults for treating CMV retinitis is 900 mg orally twice per day for a period of 21 days. The dosage for this medication needs to be fixed by the doctor based on your age, medical history and condition.
