My close friend's son aged about 39 years is having depression since last 10 to 12 years and the patient taken treatment from different doctors in 3 to 4 hospitals but at the time of taking medicine he is little bit ok but after he leave the medicine it will comes to previous stage. There is some gap between every time he leave and refuse to take the medicine. Now after almost 1 year again they started to take treatment to him, becoz once again he is murmuring with action some times daily, not sleeping properly and abusing over phone to somebody unnecessarily. So, no other option his parents once again started the treatment. Now, the Doctor prescribed the tablets. (1) Cncalm Plus 1-0-1 (2) Soltus 50 mg 0-0-1 (3) Oleanz 2.5 mg 1-0-1. But ongoing taking medicine since one month 10 to 20% better. Now, Trinicalm Plus instead of Cncalm Plus due non-availability of tablets. Is it ok Trinicalm Plus? And the patient is the main earning person in their home, now he is not working since long. Sir, there is no permanent solution for the disease? Or please suggest best medicine for the depression and urgent cure which will be most helpful to their family. Awaiting for your favourable reply Sir.

Thank you Lybrate user for taking interest in Ragavendra. Most probably Ragavendra is suffering from Schizophrenia - Not depression. Please talk to his doctor about the diagnosis. Most persons living with schizophrenia need to be on medicines for their life. Only the dosage and type of antipsychotic will change. if he goes on refusing tablets, it is better to give long acting injectable antipsychotic. He will relapse into disorder if he stops medicines. Then he will not work and earn. There is n...more

Dear lybrate-user, both anxiety disorder and irritable bowel can be managed non medically, if you are motivated to try continuously for months together. I don't know since how long you are taking these tablets. Most of the drowsiness tend to reduce in 2-3 weeks. Heart rate above 100 is well controlled by beta blocker. Now think whether you want the severity of 2020 or the drowsiness and palpitations. No pain no gain. Whether pain is more or gain is more. Try therapy, jacobson's deep muscle relax...more

Cognitive dysfunction can possibly be attributed to both: your illness, as well as the medications you are taking. It is however essential that you take the medication as prescribed by your psychiatrist. Do not modify, alter, stop or change any medications on your own. The best thing would be to approach your treating doctor with this problem so that they can make any changes (if required) in your prescription.

Dear Lybrate user
we all know these are testing times because of covid. I would suggest you to get online counseling for your wife. She needs therapy to change her thought pattern. Medicines are equally important, but if taken along with counseling, effective results can be seen. Medicines should never be stopped on your own. You should consult the doctor before doing that otherwise it can be harmful.

Hi I am 28 years old male with severe ed. All due to masturbation. Had porn addiction too. Currently stopped masturbation n porn. These days I'm experiencing severe ed, with zero libido. I am taking l arginine 5g with zinc 2.5 mg right now. It's has been almost week's time. Besides, I have been diagnosed with OCD with Major psychological sex disorder by psychiatrist. Doctor told me me that masturbation is a kind of OCD. Although I had a history of OCD. In my case it is recurring OCD. Now on antidepressants like paroxetine 12.5 mg, trifluoperazine 1 mg and chlordiazepoxide10 mg for 3 months of which almost 2 months are over. Anxiety, and depression is almost over now. My question is for ed and low libido, will L arginine help me in overcoming. I don't want to take vasodilators like Viagra etc. Besides how long does it take to reset libido. I tested my testosterone, FSH, LH, Prolactin etc they are all normal. I am not diabetic as well. I lost that urge that I had few months back, that I used to get started very quickly. Now I feel full with foggy mind. No interest in sex. Is L arginine 5g good for my ED.

, Masturbation should not be done for more than twice in a week. Frankly speaking, there is no basic difference between masturbation and sexual intercourse. In both the cases orgasm occurs at the point of ejaculation of sperm due to continuous mechanical stimulation of the shaft of penis by rubbing. Now you may wonder why there is so much taboo about masturbation. Let’s take a inner view of the post-ejaculatory state of human body Just after ejaculation of sperm a sudden decrease in the amount o...more

Hi,
Trinicalm plus has been used in women who are pregnant and has been found to be safe during pregnancy and breast feeding. Quitipine is a relatively newer drug and though we do not have a lot of data, it had been found to be safe in pregnancy. You doctor had rightly stopped divalproate which can adversely affect the baby.
Any medication that is taken during pregnancy, especially in the first 3 months cause a slight increase in the risk of it affecting the Baby. However, you need to we...more

Dear Anju,
i can not prescribe in open questions.
You can ask your chemist about Trifluoperazine 1 mg tablets. He may give some other company's THP 1 mg. It may suit you.
