Hello lybrate-user.
I would like to suggest you few exercises for shoulder and neck pain, which allows you to reduce pain and stiffness of muscles.
Forward and backward tilt.
This can be done while you're seated or on your feet. Keep your moves slow and smooth.
Start with your head squarely over your shoulders and your back straight.
Lower your chin toward your chest and hold for 15-30 seconds. Relax, and slowly lift your head back up.

What was the diagnosis made, for which prednisone was started. Was there an mri or xray done, if yes what the report. If you have cervical disc disease then physiotherapy should help along with supplememts. Need to establish the diagnosis. If its rheumatoid, then continuous medications are needed to control the disease.

Hi lybrate-user,
I appreciate you seeking help for your mother. Well, her hypertension needs to be controlled as otherwise it can damage the kidneys. I would advise that you consult a nephrologist who can monitor not only her kidney health but also recommend treatment as appropriate to control high BP. Long term usage of analgesics are best avoided. She can apply 'Rumalaya Gel' topically 2 to 3 times daily, followed by heat treatment for 15 - 20 minutes, preferably with a hot water bag or he...more

Non opioid pain medication like tramadol which is safe in diabetes could be added to paracetamol. Burning sensation may respond to medications like gabapentin, carba...more
