Dear lybrate-user,
your glucometer readings are reasonable for home monitoring purposes and I find that your sugars are under very good control. If possible (i know the covid situation in delhi is bad) get a lab to check your hba1c and if that is < 7, you need not have any anxiety
I suggest home monitoring as follows. Fasting and pp on wednesday and 2 hour after lunch and 2 hours after dinner on sunday and maintain a record. Targets for you would be fasting 80-110 and all post meal value...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
You have T2 DM, (not T1). It is good to know that HbA1c% has come down to 6.9, that shows good control. You have to continue the same treatment and lifestyle.
As regards TSH level if it has not come down, then there is a need for increasing the dosage of Levothyroxine from 25 mcg to 50 mcg per day. Then check TSH after 6 weeks to see what is the impact. TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, at which all the symptoms of hypothyroidism will be in check....more

Thanks for the query.
Blood glucose fasting 168 mg is fairly high, suggesting improper control. What are ther values like PP glucose and HbA1c%? Ideally in a well controlled diabetes fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8.
Another important aspect is your excess weight, with a BMI of 32.91 kgs/Sq meter (normal < 23 kgs/Sq met). This does affect glucose control as excess fat increases Insulin resistance. Plus it also make one lazy and weak. So please consider ...more

Sir/madam,
the main problem is obesity bcoz bmi is around 30. Your father fasting sugar is bit high but don't worry about it. I have some suggestions:-
first, we have some good drugs for better control of blood sugar. The medicine you are on will not be sufficient.
Second, we can suggest exercise and medical nutrition therapy for diabetes.
Third, weight reduction of about 5 to 7 kg over a period of 6 to 9 months will help alot.
Fourth, plan for hba1c, serum creatinine, lft & ...more

Alanine aminotransferase (alt) is an enzyme found inside liver cells. Liver enzymes, including alt, help your liver break down proteins to make them easier for your body to absorb. Several things can cause high alt levels, including: nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

Mr p k mishra, istamet is a good combination in treating t2 diabetes, provided it is bringing your sugar levels to desired values. The combination is as safe as any other oral anti diabetic drug. And about being perfect, well there is no drug which is perfect except probably insulin injections. If your disease is well controlled and hba1c % is around 6.5% then you should continue the same. Along with this exercise and restricted diet are equally important and not to be over looked.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Blood glucose control is good. To reduce weight you have do following things: Reduce food intake by may be 1/3rd and increase physical activity to more than 1 hour a day. You should do aerobic exercise for about 3 to days and strength building ones for other 2 to 3 days. By cutting down about 500 calories from daily food intake with exercise one can cut approximately 1/2 a kg weight per week. Thanks.
