Hello-
Sexual side effects are linked to antidepressants in general, but some types of medications cause greater sexual problems than others. The following antidepressants are reportedly the most problematic:

citalopram (Celexa)
duloxetine (Cymbalta)
escitalopram (Lexapro)

What stalopam was prescribed for (diagnosis) should be in your prescription. Most probably reason for headache should be stress, but the medication is also a rare possibility (does not occur in most of the persons taking it, and commonly may relieve headache also). Consult your psychiatrist and inform him the issue - a change in medication is probably needed.

YOu can stop it as you have done and Stalopam Plus Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Clonazepam and escitalopram which have anxiety-lowering and mood-enhancing effects. Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine (BZD) which increases the action of GABA, a chemical messenger that suppresses the abnormal activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Escitalopram is selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) which increases the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger that improves mood.

Don't be afraid, it is a very good medicine, and your psychiatrist has prescribed well. But no need for vitamin tablets and all. Just take recita, there can be initial side effects ike yawning, mild anxiety and some gastritis which will disappear in 2-4 weeks. It s antidepressant effect will also take 2-4 weeks to be felt.

Dear Abhrajit,
Since you are on the lowest dose of 5 mg Escitalopram, you need not taper. You can stop without tapering. But, 3 months may be too early to stop in case of major depressive disorder. i don't know the diagnosis for which stalopam mini was prescribed.

No, Stalopam should not be stopped. Instead you can use a Multivitamin tablet or syrup and emeset for the nausea. Sudden stoppage is Stalopam is not recommended. If you found my answer helpful, please leave a like/ thanks. Thank you.

The adjustment phase when starting a new medication can vary from person to person. Generally, side effects like drowsiness and changes in mood may occur in the initial weeks as your body adapts to the medication. For most people, these side effects tend to lessen over time.
In the case of stalopam (escitalopram), which is an ssri (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) commonly prescribed for anxiety and panic disorders, side effects often improve within the first few weeks. However, every...more
