Discuss your current symptoms with your psychiatrist; it is possible they will make changes in the medications or doses which will improve your symptoms. I also suggest you go for regular counseling to help you cope with daily stressors. Confide in a supportive friend or family member who will help you get through this. Set goals for yourself and work towards them. If you are feeling suicidal please consult a psychiatrist immediately.

Dear lybrate-user,
Yes, with Dicorate e r 1 gm and qutipin s r 100 itself, it will settle down. Please consult your doctor about increase of dose. Dicorate will be 20 mg/lg body weight. Qutipin according to your symptom control and sedation. Since I don't know your weight and the type of work you do as a nurse, only your doctor can make change of dose, if necessary.

I am concerned that you have not sought the help of a therapist all these years. It is still not too late. Go meet a therapist and get some help to develop tools, skills, and techniques. Mere use of medication will not suffice and cannot help you develop any coping skills. The counseling gives you an avenue to work with your emotional issues and you will develop skills in coping with the everyday challenges that life throws at you. I hope your visits to the psychiatrist were regular and the medi...more

Dear lybrate-user,
normally tunes of songs running in your ears do not disturb you. If you are disturbed and it interferes with your life activities, you may be hallucinating. Along with other symptoms, your psychiatrist may diagnose you as schizophrenia. Please discuss with your psychiatrist the severity of the disturbances with tunes. She/he may adjust the dose or change to another drug or stop a drug or change the diagnosis (may a drug dependence or withdrawal).

Hi Lybrate-user,
The best medicine is self motivation. Maintain a healthy life style. Have proper diet and sleep. Fix a wake up time and sleep time. Do yoga/exercise/jogging in the morning. Involved in your hobbies. Don't be over thinker. Try to enjoy the present moment, communicate with your friends. Family go for outing. And best way do a swot analysis of your self. Talk to a counsellor.

Insomnia can happen due to many reasons. The most common reason is stress or illness. Temporary stress due to changes in job, relationships, death of a loved one, or moving to a new place. If you feel like it is due to medication, you should discuss it further over a call along with your complete medical history. Thanks.

Dear Maher,
It is good that you got rid of your crazy thoughts with risperidone. Please continue it at the prescribed dose. You can also discuss your bad feelings and libido with your doctor. Either he may reduce deroxat/risperidone or change them to other tablets or add another drug to improve libido. Please wait till you consult the doctor and don't do it on your own.
