Hello. The prescription includes all major drugs used for OCD but whether it is apt cannot be said unless viewed long term. Drugs are given matching the patient's profile. Hence it is better to consult a psychiatrist for the same.

I'm suffering from psychosis for the last 4 years and consuming anti psychotics like risperidone, olanzapine, diazepam.actually reason for this problem is uncertainty in my love life. My girlfriend's family is not accepting us. That was the reason for psychosis. Last month I saw her and she is still ok with me and she looks so normal since when I see her first time. Today I saw her but I am unable to recognize her and she was looking like unknown person to me. Is there any problem with me because of medication? Her family is forcing her to marry her brother in law. Is there any problem in her like depression or any other? Totally I am confused. I am still loving her but unable to recognize that she is my girl. Kindly suggest me a better solution because I thought I have trouble with my mind. I am so scared about this thing. Is it any side effect of anti psychotics?

Dear user, you are too young. But due to certain reasons if you are diagnosed with bipolar disorder you have to take some extra care of yourself. I do not want you to depend on medication solely. I want to know the whole details about your disorder. But I must say don't depend on the medicines and don't make it a habit for future. You need counselling session for better control on this disorder and medicines. Medicines are not the only solution, counselling is the best option for you so that you...more

Dear lybrate-user,
If your psychiatrist says, it is due to anxiety. Please believe it and deal with your anxiety in non medical methods. If he says that these medicines don't have side effect, like difficulty in passing urine. There may be other reasons for your difficulty which gets precipitated by any medicine. I don't know your age. But I know you are a man. It may be due to prostate enlargement. Why don't you consult an urologist or get one ultrasound abdomen and pelvis with measurement ...more

Lithium level is normal only, so lithium can be continued if other blood parameters are fine. On your mood symptoms discuss the lack of improvement with your treating psychiatrist, and try alternate medications if needed. Being open about no improvement will lead to the doctor taking note and doing away with medications that do not work. All the best.
