The best is to go on a NO cereal, No sugar, No fatty food diet and eat only fruits and vegetables. If you cant follow such a diet regularly for two years, If you cant do it then you may soon need to undergo Bariatric surgery. What is you height ? Contact me for further details though this site.

Yes it may be due to more sitting for longer time. Do exercise in morning daily, avoid fatty foods and junk foods. Walk after eating foods for minimum 15 min. Don't drink water in between meal. Don't take any medicine because it is not much useful. It may have side effect on your body. Make a diet chart and follow that.
