Hello, Thanks for the query.
Only metformin may not give adequate glucose control, that is the reason Tenelegliptn has been prescribed. SO please continue that. Thanks.

One thing u can do is change the brand and see if u find any relief as metformin is a very good medicines. You can try cetapin XR 500 thrice daily. Also use tab pantodac 40 for 15 days.
If symptoms don't resolve, then guess we need to stop metformin.

Mr. lybrate-user Thanks for the query.
When extended release or sustained release Metformin tablet is being taken, some times one notices the the tablet being excreted from the stools. However, it is only containing the polymer used to make the drug release slowly in the gut. The drug is fully absorbed. It is only that polymer shell that comes out. Hence there is no reason to worry. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user,
try taking it before 15 min before food because the drug works better that way. If it cause symptoms of gastritis such as fullness and burning sensation in the upper abdomen change timing to after food

Thanks for the query.
Usually Metformin is recommended to be taken after food. That helps reduce any side effects those may be noticed. Plus its absorption is not affected by presence of food in the gut. Thanks.
