Hello p.lybrate-user,
it seems like chitrak chowdhuri's weight is on the higher side for someone his age and height. Firstly, he will need to lose weight by becoming more acting and eating healthy at regular intervals along with drinking sufficient water over a period of time. Carnitine is helpful for many conditions however you might find that it is more helpful to be on a wholesome food before the gym.

It requires a serious thought so that one can plan the future line of treatment. Kindly discuss about your problems and concerns with your doctor and get an explanation as to how you can come out of dependency on medications as soon as possible. Kindly read about healthy living habits from the internet (decide to adapt a healthy lifestyle with a lot of dedication ).

Generally taking this medication for lifetime is reserved for patients having frequent depression episodes or unresolving anxiety. If its your first episode, you can try and stop it after 9-12 months. Every medication has its own set of side effects, and this medication is no different. However you can consult your psychiatrist and ask them to look for any side effects in the long term.

Dear Gurupal,
Betacap is only to reduce your heart rate, when it beats fast causing fear. So you can stop it, if you don't have palpitations. Rexipra intake will be life long in very rare case of dysthymia. Otherwise it is usually for 6-9 months, depending on the diagnosis of your depression. Please talk to your doctor about stopping rexipra. She/he will gradually reduce and stop it.

You might be having chronic anxiety requiring long term medications, rather than taking reduced medications and suffering from anxiety, take optimal or correct dose and the medicine which suits you the best, in consultation with your psychiatrist and live comfortably. The medications used by your psychiatrist are all good. All the best.
