I am 80+ year old. I am suffering from t2 diabetes for last 15 years. How do doctors prescribe medicines? is there any co-relation between fasting & pp sugar reading and medicines prescribed. Currently I am onmetformin 500mg+2mg glimiperide before lunch and before dinner. My average fasting sugar currently is 100 and pp is 149. Is the dose correct? can it be reduced?

Your sugar levels are very well controlled. Please make sure you don't get hypoglycemic episodes otherwise dose adjustment has to be done.

Hello, I have pcod problem and I started taking ova shield ds 5 25 tablet and letroz from day 3 ,but I forget to take 1 1 ovaa shield ds tablet in first five days, only took 5 tablets for 5 day which is in different color in the combipack sheet. What will be the possibilities of ovulation and is there any side effects. Or shall I continue from next tabletsplease someone help me. Thanks in advance.

I was given ova shield ds combipack for induction of ovulation. However, follicle growth was very slow and on 18th day it reached 19 mm and doctor gave 5000 iu of hcg on day 19th. On 21st day when ultrasound was done, follicle had not ruptured still and doctor has given 2.5 mg later (2 doses) and suggested tvs on 23rd day again. I am not sure what is happening. We did have intercourse before and after hcg shot. Is there a possibility of conceiving and can first clomid (50 mg for 5 days for induction) and now letro can be given?

Hi,
Sometimes there can be delayed rupture.
or the follicle may be a cyst. So your doctor had told to repeat the scan for this reason. anyway you have tried.But as you are 36 yrs, meet a fertility doctor and do iui treatment.
To increase your chances. Age is the determining factor. Next time injections along with letroz should be given for ovulation

Recently on sep 2 I came to know that my wife became pregnant and it was 4 weeks old pregnancy and then to avoid pregnancy on sep 4th she took combipack of mifepristone and misoprostol tablets in that course of 5 tablets she took 3 tablets from sep 5th onwards bleeding was started and it continued for 5 days till 9th sep but today she tested urine pregnancy test again it is showing positive. Tell me is their chances of having the pregnancy still or else the the pregnancy is lost or what?

only a scan tell whethwr the pregnancy is still running. those tablets are abortion pills it's not a pill to avoid pregnancy

One of my friend whose father is pharmacist he suggested to take combipack of mifepristone & misoprostol tablets pregnant kit 200 mg to stop pregnancy. So need your intervene about whether mentioned medicine is ok to stop pregnancy. Her age is 27 yrs, she is also having allergy of cold and dust. Kindly guide what to do. Hope to revert us soon. Allergic reaction to cold or dust can also have allergy for misoprostols kindly get a gynaecologist supervision and an ultrasound before taking medicines don't use over the counter drugs.

Silofast contains silodosin which is a alpha blocker. This may help in spontaneous expulsion of lower ureteric stone but it should be only taken with the advice of qualified urologist. But it never dissolves the stone.

I am 50 years old having benign prostatic hyperplasia (bph) symptoms since last 5 years having prostate weight of 25gms and residual urine - 70 ml. Can I take silodosin 8 mg daily at night for it as urimax 0.4 causes postural hypotension to me. For how long this medication should be taken? Is it safe to take silodosin 8 mg daily? Please get a uroflowmetry test.
Continue cap silofast 8 mg at night if it is not causing postural hypotension.

I am a male, 61 years of age, suffering from Type II diabetes and hypertension since the last 17 years. I have been advised to take Human Mixtard insulin in the morning (20 units) and evening (15 units), besides other oral medications - in the morning: 1 Tab. Jalra M 50mg/500mg. For diabetes; 1 Tab Winbp 40H and in the evening: 1 Tab. Glycomet - GP 3/850, 1 Tab. Nebistar 5 mg, 1 Tab Ecosporin AV 75. Since I am on insulin, as it is, what is the rationale/need to have Jalra and Glycomet - since the metformin intake orally, exceeds 1300 mg per day?

Addition of metformin will restrict your insulin dose.You can stop glimipride in glycomet Gp 3/850 instead you can use glycomet 1000mg twice a day.You can stop jalra also because it is effective in early years of disease.
