Yes you were too late for the vaccination.
But nail scratches does not cause rabies.
The virus is in saliva.
So you were safe.

Hello! Rabies infection is caused by rabies virus, transmitted by bite of a rabid dog. The incubation period of this infection is usually 1 to 3 months. WHO (world health organization) says it can range from 1 week to 1 year. Since 6 years have passed since the incident, you don't have to worry about possibility of infection and vaccination now. Moreover from what you said, it looks like you had a Class 1 bite. Meaning, mildest form of dog bite. Hope this has helped you:-)

Hi lybrate-user, Was the bite deep or superficial? Hope it was cleaned by soap and water. The standard treatment is tetanus and anti rabies injection on day 0, 3,7 ,14, 28 and optional on day 90.
Don't worry you will be fine by this.
Try to relax and do meditation. And follow the above treatment regime

If the scratch is 10 days back and the cat is alive, then no need of vaccine. But even a mild scratch is the indication of rabies vaccination. In future you should remember it. And vaccinate your cat to get rid of repeated vaccination.

No you don't need to worry at all. And there are 2 reasons for that
1.once you are vaccinated by rabies vaccine the antibody remains for around 3 months in your body.
2.most commonly the rabies infection is spread through saliva.
So don't you worry .keep continuing the dosage of vaccine as prescribed earlier.
