Dear Lybrate user, Quetiapine is not a first choice drug for symptoms of anxiety, or sleep problems as you have told. It is used in depression or manic state due to bipolar illness. So the first question is why was Quetiapine started in first place, how long you have been taking it, what symptoms due you currently have, why you want to stop quetiapine, need to be known before we can try to stop Quetiapine. Even if the medication has to be stopped, kindly do it after discussing it with your psych...more

Since you are already on medication I suggest you talk to your treating Psychiatrist and convey your current symptoms to them. It is possible that some changes in medication dosages will help improve the symptoms. As they are familiar with your history it is always better to have a discussion with them regarding this situation.

I think you should consult the same physician and take his advice. We as counsellors and life skill coaches can't prescribe any kind of medication.
Pls note all allopathic medication have side effects
though with medication you can also undergo counselling which has been proven to have very nice results for anxiety and depression as the root cause of the disease is taken care of.

Mindfulness method for concentration. This is an easy mindfulness exercise, and one that you can do anytime throughout the day. Take a moment right now to try this. Check your watch and note the time. For the next 60 seconds your task is to focus all your attention on your breathing. It? s just for one minute, but it can seem like an eternity. Leave your eyes open and breathe normally. Be ready to catch your mind from wandering off (because it will) and return your attention to your breath whene...more

deep breathing is another effective way to relieve stress and anxiety. It helps you with physical symptoms such as shallow breathing and rapid heart rate, and it also helps with controlling your thoughts. When you practice deep breathing, you're forced to take your thoughts off of whatever is causing you anxiety and to focus on the breathing technique that you are using.
