Hello Dr. Can neurologist prescribed drugs" provanol 10 (propranolol) & zapiz .25 (clonazepam)" be taken with nephrologist prescribed drugs "ramistar 5 (ramipril) and repace 25 (losartan)" for 30 days?#problem: as my bp decreased from 120 to 104 but no physical problem. Thank you Dr. for giving me your precious time.

I am diabetic on insugen 30/70 refill injection, glycomet gp2, ppg 0.3 mg and other drugs. I am also hypertensive on ramipril 5 mg and amlodipine 5 mg. My query is related to hypertension and not on diabetic problem. I am taking the above medicines for last 5 years on hypertension but my hypertension is more than 160/75. It shoots to 175 frequently. I began treadmill jogging exercise for 1 hour every day and then hypertension reduces to about 150/72. If I do not jog for 1 day, hypertension goes back to 160/170. I am consuming ramipril 5 mg + amlodipine 5 mg everyday, once before lunch. The hypertension is not at all reduced with these drugs but only by jogging. I am 60 years old and jogging for 1 hour is very strenuous, leading to knee pain frequently. Suggest replacement drugs for hypertension.

You are very much aware and concerned about your health and doing fine as evident from your description. First thing you should do is to increase the dose amlodipine to 10 mg and regular check of your bp. If if is still not coming down then it would be better to add and/or replace another medicines.

I have blood pressure from last 17 years. I am taking medicines 1. Ealry Morning 7:30AM before tea Omez+Becasule, 2. 8:30 AM Morning -Amlopres AT 25 mg + 1/2 Ditide alternately 3. In evening I am taking Amlopres 5. 4. In night after meals before sleeping I am taking the Rivotril. I am having oedema in left leg and now it has come left leg also. It vanishes when I stop taking amlodipin. Once Amlodipin has been stopped I have been given Beta blockers has also controlled my blood pressure but my pulse rate has gone down upto 57-60 therefore I have been again shifted to Amlodipin. Kindly suggest some other new salts which can prevent the BP without any side effect like oedema and lower pluse rate. Regards

Hi, getting edema is very common with amlodipine ....
you can be started on telmisartan or ramipril if no other contraindication

I am using Calcium with vitamin D tablet 500mg, Vitamin E capsules 200mg, since last 6 months for treatment of my osteopenia. Pl advice that for which purpose Vitamin E is necessary to use. Due to regular use of these Medicines I am suffering with heavy Constipation daily. I am taking daily at bedtime cremaffin/Lactulose syrup 30 ml/ Isabgol husk 5 gm/Tirfals churn 10 gm but no relief in my constipation. My stool is dry & hard & after applying much strain it comes out. I am taking fibre diet, fruits & drinks 4 lt water daily. I am vegetarian & of 67 years age. I am also using diabetes2 medicines glimepiride 1mg od, Metformin SR 500 mg BD, & Ecosprin150 mg od, Atorvastatin 10 mg hs, Ramipril 2.5 mg, for CAD & standing, & Urimax D 0.4 mg for B P H. My prostate gland size/vol is 44.16 ml. My blood sugar, blood pressure, lipid profile & calcium labs reports are normal. whether I can stop to take Calcium & vitamin E, Atorvastatin, Ramipril Medicines from today now in view to remove my heavy Constipation & back side whole skin dryness & itching condition. Thank you.

Do not stop any medication except calcium and vit d wala tablet.
This calcium is main culprit.
Stop for 1 month.
Avoid milk and milk products.
Start banana every day twice a day.

Nitrocontin 2.6, clopidorgel+asprin 75, Ramipril 5, vitamin capsues in morning and in evening Atenolol IP 50mg, atrovastatin IP 20 mg Nitrocontin 2.6 Aceclofenac & Paracetamol Tab (Spin-APM). I have under gone angioplasty in Mar.07 stunting in right arteries. I am 56 yrs male. Presently I am taking 2.5mg Ramipril, 25 mg metaprolol after breakfast and 10mg Astrovastin with 75mg ecospirin at bed time. These medicines are being taken regularly. I am keeping good health without any sign of my previous illness. I take moderate exercise in routine and do job normally. I have never been detected any blood pressure and my blood samples (like lipid profiles) are well within the specified limits. I want to know if medicines can be stopped or reduced in its frequency. Please advise.

I am 60 years having diabetics for the last 20 years. I am on insulin for the last 4 years. My fbs is 120 and ppbs is 150. Hbaic 5.86 urea is 26 and creatnine is. 99. I am taking the following medicine. Humainsulin30.70 22 before lunch and 16 before dinner. Metformin 1mg each before lunch and dinner. Telmisartan 40 and ramipril5. One multivitamin. My problem - for the last few months I observe a reduction in my weight. It has come down from 68kg to 65 kg in about 3 months time. I would like to know your comment on my health condition and the reason for the decrease in my weight.

Actually your diabetes is under good control, but you are losing weight, so you should be investigated for weight loss. Regular blood check for kidney and liver should be carried. Are you suffering from respiratory infection, then also go for xray chest. Then inform me.

I am 63 years old male, with diabetes, hypertension and obesity from the last 25 years, had arterial fibrillation about 4 years back, take neat alcohol 3 pegs daily, presently taking nitrolong 2.6, cardoron 100, ramipril 5, amlodipine 5, glynase MF, Glyciphage 500, ATR 40, Deplatt A 75, Current ultrasound shows - liver normal with relative hypertrophy of left lobe and shows homogenous bright echotexture of liver parenchyma, Gallbladder shows calculus 12 & 6.7 mm, Prostate enlarged 40x35x37, 28gms, please suggest treatment.

If you feel that you have weak urine flow and since your prostate is also enlarged start tab urimax once daily for 1 month and see how is the response. You might need gall bladder surgery in future if you have pain in right upper abdomen.

She is presently on Ramipril+ Asprin ,Dilzem SR,and Pari-cot 37.5 She is an Indian house wife ,very active,walks very fast all the day,& is full of anxiety all the time as she is keen know the food to be prepare for dinner at the time of bed tea. She has also started loosing her memory.She is very talkative and can talk without topic for hours & she usually do so on phone with her daughter,sisters and other relatives.She feels bad is we suggest to consult a psychiatrist. We are worried,please suggest .
