Sometimes our neurotransmitters are not balanced the way they should be requiring long term even life time treatment. You should take your illness like diabetes or hypertension and not be preoccupied about stopping medications which would produce more distress than happiness. Rather, consult your psychiatrist regularly and take medications as per his advise. All the best.

There is a proper way to reduce the anti-depressant, and it should be done only when the symptoms have been in control since past few months. Alongwith oleanz 2.5 mg has also to be taken care of.
I would suggest you to contact a psychiatrist, so that you would be guided well for ways to slowly take off the medicines, and that too you not feeling those troubling withdrawal or discontinuation symptoms.

I don't think it is unipolar depression and is more serious than that. You need to go for counseling too if you want to feel better and even recover. It is so much better and you would have developed a lot of coping mechanisms by now and may have been able to conduct yourself to the point of even enjoying life to a certain extent. Even now it is not too late, although it might be a little more difficult. Nature and the way we have been made, have fortunately built-in certain structures that let ...more

It seems like you have a co occurring delusion about another person being in your mind who is controlling in nature and this is in addition to the obsessions and compulsions about thoughts. This brings us to the question of whether your problems are being adequately treated although you are on medications. In addition you also mention that you have a medical problem i.e. Irritable bowel syndrome. If you are having problems with all these issues and need a second opinion about medications, you ar...more

Schizophrenia is a very complex and difficult disease to treat, even with medication. All psychotropic medicines have side-effects: that is inescapable. But I suspect that you are depending entirely on medication when in reality you need to combine it with counseling or therapy. In therapy you will learn a lot of coping mechanisms and techniques to remain functional and lead a close-to-normal life. You will also learn about emotions and how they can impact your condition adversely. Expressing em...more

Hi
the sleep inducing medicines might sometimes have side effects and can cause slurring in speech or dizziness. There can be any underlying cause of sleeplessness as well. Stop the medication to improve the presenting symptoms.
Homeopathy can relief the symptoms quite immediately and cure it permanently.

Hello, I can understand the problem you are facing. You have to understand what she is doing is because of the illness. She has no touch with the reality at present and once she will improve with medication everything will be fine.
Oleanz can be increased gradually to minimum effective dosage required. If she fails to respond at adequate dose for at least 6-8 weeks duration taken with good compliance, a change in antipsychotic may be considered. Consult your psychiatrist or you can consult m...more
