Asked for male, 27 years old from Delhi

I'm 27 year old male. I'm still on meds of hypothyroidism which is mild and high bp fluctuate but not taking any medicine and also suffering from sinus. Recently, having tinnitus and yes, I do have history of earphones with loud music. My doctor recommended me nootropil 800 and absolut 3g. Do you think my tinnitus is due to vitamins?

Health Query

Patient complains of anxiety and dysphoria and is on paroxetine 62.5 mg and olanzapine 5 mg for last 2 years. He is not responding to other antidepressants. Although in 2 years he has progressed much, he still needs an additional mood enhancer to be added. Doctor has recently tried tb arcalion 200 mg (sulbutiamine) which did not work plus increased anxiety. Thus is there any other promising nootropil which can be used for mood upliftment? My son is 3 years 5 months old. He hits himself and becomes aggressive and behaves violently he hits his head on the wall, he hits his throat stomach and so. So we consulted a pediatrician and through EEG we came to know that he is having abnormal epilepsy activity. Hi, I read your problem. Your son unfortunately has seizure disorder. These disorders need a lot of patience from the side of physicians and neurologists and most of it is born by the parents. He might have behavioral disturbances which are not uncommon in seizure disorder. Adding an antipsychotic agent (serotonin dopaminergic) agent might help. Dear doctor, my mother aged 72 now had brain infraction ischemic stroke on 20.10.2013. Her right side both arm and legs are paralysed and she lost her speech too. We did first aid treatment at siliguri under Dr. Haldar, neurologist at mitra nursing home. She continued with physical physiotherapy and piracetam tablet with ecosprin. But its about five years and she did not improved. What are her chances of recovery. Would appreciate if you could kindly highlight on her recovery chances.

I'm 23m. I was prescribed verapamil and prednisolone for cluster headache, which caused tinnitus in one ear. At the advice of neurologist, I stopped taking the tablets. No hearing loss as per audiogram. My ent has prescribed me with the following to cure tinnitus:- tinnicar 20 mg tab - 2 tablets each, morning and night cognix plus cap - 1 tablet each, morning and night rebagen otic cap 10's - 1 tablet each, morning and night i'm scared to take the tablets, in case it increases my tinnitus and would love a second opinion. Also, is the dosage too high?

Now my smell improved. My ct scan of paranasal sinuses -plain impression: no evidence of sinusitis mild to moderate deviation of nasal septum to right. Bilateral moderate inferior _turbinate hypertrophy_. Is scan report normal or do I need to continue same tabs and metaspray 2 puffs twice daily? Or no need of tabs it recover naturally? Note: I have hypothyroid using 75 mg daily and also using 1 tension tab and 1 tab serocare sertraline tab.

Goodevening. If there is improvement of symptoms then you can discontinue the medication. And regarding ct scan impression if you don't have any breathing difficulty i.e blockage of nose often then you don't need to do anything.

Hello lybrate-user, I understand your query.
I suggest you to take normal steam inhalation twice a day for 5 days and continue your regular medications. Metaspray can be stopped.

I have been having a problem of anxiety and dysphoria for last 3 years. I am on paroxetine 62.5 mg and olanzapine 5 mg. I tried a lot of antidepressants but none of those worked for me. Paroxetine solves 80% of my mood problems but for the rest 20% I need an addition. Could you please suggest me a nootropil/ health supplement which can help in enhancing my mood. I have already tried the following two but they increased my anxiety. 1. Tab sulbutiamine 200 mg 2. Acetyl l-carnitine tab 500 mg. I will surely discuss it with my doctor first.
