Thanks for the query. Because of untreated hyperthyroidism you have lost weight. Therefore, it is essential to start appropriate treatment. There's no dietary restriction. But treatment has to be started. You will need anti - thyroid drug like Carbimazole. Thanks.

Mr Rajesh, Hyperthyroidism is treated with anti thyroid drugs like Methimazole, carbimazole and propylthiouracil for about a few months, that will control excess thyroxine secretion.
Some time radio active iodine is used to reduce excess thyroxine production or some times thyroid surgery may be used.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Usually Neomercazole tablets are given for 12 to 18 months, to bring down the overactivity of thyroid gland. It is better if you continue for a few more months till TSH come up a bit more. Then you might discontinue the drug. But thyroid testing has to be done once in six months to see if there is no excess activity. Thanks.

lybrate-user, Hyperthyroidism is a hormonal disorder, occurring due to excess activity of thyroid gland. Only treatment for this is taking anti - thyroid drugs (Neomercazole), plus betablockers to reduce palpitations. There is no Ayurvedic treatment. If you still want to go for it then choice is yours. Thanks.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user, If your blood thyroid hormone levels are well controlled with 10 mg of Neomercazole, than there is no need for any specific diet. Only if the symptoms recur inspite of Neomercazole, you can consider radioactive iodine as a permanent solution for hyperthyroidism.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
It appears you are having hyperthyroidism. This condition is treated with drugs like Methimazole or carbimazole. The treatment has to go on for 18 to 24 months, before the excess activity is controlled. Once proper control is achieved, treatment is discontinued. In some cases the gland may again become over active. Then further treatment is necessary. If the activity is further increased then treatment may have to be reconsidered. Mabashasji, Treatment of hyperthyroidism (Neomercazole 10 mg), has to continue for at least 12 to 18 months. If thyroid function returns to normal with TSH levels increasing, then drugs are stopped. In some cases, patients remain free of any symptoms for a fairly long time. In a few symptoms return in some moths, then other options of treatment are considered.
