Hi
Please avoid honey as it is another version of sugar. Sugar free has empty calories and has no nutrients in it. To satisfy your sweet tooth you can take fresh dates occasionally with normal control of blood sugars. Avoid 3 white ingredients from your diet list. SUGAR, RICE, REFINED FLOUR.
Avoid carbohydrates, alcohol, butter, red meat, alcohol, breads, biscuits.
Avoid fruits at bedtime and with your major meals. Always snack on your fruit.

Mr. Lybrate-user, to control blood sugar following things need to be done:
1) take prescribed medications regularly in proper dose without missing,
2) take a restricted diet providing exact amount of calories based on ideal body weight (ibw= height in cms - 100 x 0.9 = kgs), 3) avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastrie
4) refrain from alcohol and smoking, red meat and egg yolk,
5) exercise daily for at least 1 hour.

First and foremost take medicines for diabetes regularly. And follow these simple advices
-Eat regular meals throughout the day at same time everyday. Avoid skipping meals.
-Include high fibre foods at each meal i.e.Legumes (beans/lentils, nuts (almonds, walnut, eggs etc) ?
-Take fruit as a healthy snack i.e. Apples, pears, papaya, mausami, jamun, guava
-Avoid: grapes, mango, bananas, jackfruit,cheeku .

Mr. Lybrate-user, you are already taking glimepiride and metformin for controlling blood sugar. That is the right treatment. If your treatment is appropriate then fasting sugar should be closer to 100 mg and pp 150 to 160 mg and hba1c% <7. Apart from drugs diet control and exercise are equally important to control blood sugar.
