I am 60 years old and was told I lack B12 and should take supplement. Today I got methycobal 500 and in description says above 50 not to administer can you please advise.

Health Query

I am type 2 diabetic and on medication. Metformin 1gm BD, vildagliptin 50 mg BD, also taking medicines for hypertension telmisartan H 40 BD and clonazepam 1 mg for anxiety. Also 1500 mg methylcobalamin once daily. I have been taking these medicines under medical advice. Is it dangerous to take methylcobalamin for so long? Someone recently told me it is poison.

These are for diabetes and vitamin tablets ( pregalabin ). If you have diabetes at this age you are type 1 diabetic and insulin is a must. The side effects are different for each tablets but not serious to stop tablets as controlling diabetes is the most important aim to avoid umpteen complication of it. Need not worry about side effects ans a all people have these without any bad effects . you can consult me for private guidelines

I am a vegetarian. Do I need to take Vitamin B12 supplement every day? Right now I am taking "Methycobal 500 Mcg by Wockhardt" supplement every day and would like to know if it is safe to do so OR will that cause any side effects. I started taking it after getting my B12 levels checked and found to be deficient and it is normal now after taking the supplements. Can't I get it from food and avoid supplements?

I had experienced low levels of vitamin b12. I went to doctor and he gave me some methycobal deca 3 injection and now my vitamin level is showing excess level. Since the day I received the injection I am experiencing poor sleep and increased lighter urine. Is it any warning or nothing else.

My question is I had b12 deficiency which was idiopathic according to doctor then I had methycobal injections n I still continue having sublingual b12 supplements 500 mcg is it the the causes of acme I have ,the pimples are not big these are like small n many like white heads but these are not white heads these pimples.

Some sources say that vitamin b12 may be associated with acne. However further large scale studies are needed to confirm or refute it. You should get your vitamin b12 level checked and further decision, should be taken based on the result.

Flat foot at times causes pain. But we must rule out other causes as well
rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder.
Physiotherapy usually helps
any way take
paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1 tab odx10days
you will need other supportive medicines also.
It may have to be further investigated
