Yes it does go to breast milk
Dexamethasone does pass into breast milk, but low doses taken by the mother are unlikely to significantly affect a nursing baby.
Take drugs that are absolutely essential for your health and inform your treating doctor about breast feeding so that doses can be adjusted or drug withdrawn

Dexona / dexamethasone is used to treat conditions such as arthritis, blood/hormone/immune system disorders, allergic reactions, certain skin and eye conditions, breathing problems, certain bowel disorders, and certain cancers. It is also used as a test for an adrenal gland disorder (cushing's syndrome).

Many thyroid symptoms. In addition, tsh 2.7, ft4 1, t3ru 18. 5 nodules under 2 cm found. Cortisol pm was not high cortisol early am 22 zscore: 1.7 platelet ct: 454 mch: 26.5 calcium: 8.4 non-hdl: 144 hdl: cholesterol: 59 total cholesterol: 203 ldl cholesterol: 120 antibodies 1 - green I know some of these are borderline or low. But, I am tired of all these symptoms. They began after an accident I was in 6 years ago, after prednisone treatment and seemed to flare after steroidal shots due to 3 fractures in cervical spine. In the matter of a year I gained 90lbs. Even though I only stopped working out for a month after the accident and didn’t stop maintaining the low calorie intake 1200-1400 calories a day. By flaring I mean there was 6 months I could not stand on my feet and walk 10 ft without feeling fire in my calves which a doctor attributed to water retention. After that, I received the steroid shots in my cervical spine and experiences extreme inflammation. I was given meloxicam to take as the inflammation is worse at night. So much so I cannot sleep. Weight gain which with calorie intake of 1200, juicing, and keto does’t help. I’m even add med that is suppose to help for weight loss as well which my doctor was hopeful for me to try but, does’t do much but help me focus which is still a good thing. I exercise 5 days cardio and weight intervals for an hour. I currently keep carbs as low as possible. Rarely eat bread or anything with preservatives or sugar. I do have fresh fruit on occasion. On the days that I can I wake up very early. For the last 3 years until a switch to a bp indicated for heavy bleeding, I experienced major amenorrhea which was also left unexplained. This are the major incidents I can think of aside from the typical hypothyroid symptoms. Might I i benefit from hypothyroid treatment perhaps? Your opinion is appreciated. I’ve felt miserable for half of my youngest sons life and I need help.

Dear lybrate-user,
you probably do not have hypothyroidism as your symptoms are non specific and your free t4 and tsh are normal. Your weight gain is probably related to the total cessation of physical activity after 6 months and the steroid injections but now that you are not on steroids that does not explain why you remain so overweight. The 8 am cortisol of 22 ug/dl is just above normal. You need to do a dexamethasone suppression test to rule out over-activity of adrenal glands. You need ...more

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
It is difficult to understand why one would take Dexona (dexamethasone) tablets for weight increase. It is strong corticosteroid. Plus Cyproheptadin 4 mg, is also absolutely useless for weight increase. Since there is no mention about height and weight, I can hardly comment. As regards the infection on the abdomen, please do show it to a skin doctor, it can be cured. For weight increase one needs, proper nutrition and regular structured exercise. Thank...more

Ms. lybrate-user it's unfortunate to hear such issue. All medicines have some or other side effects and your child is suffering from ototoxicity of typhoid medications. Keep in mind to inform any doctor you consult for your baby in future to inform about this event to prevent further damage. Secondly you didn't mention how bad the hearing loss is. Send audiometry and bera reports so that I can advise accordingly. If the damage is permanent then hearing aid will be the only option. There are some...more

Hello lybrate-user. You should immediately visit to a dentist. He/she will 1st examine you and based on that they will diagnose you and give you treatment plan. According to your description you are suffering from oral submucous fibrosis (osmf). There are 2 types of treatment plan available-
1. To open your mouth injection of corticosteroid like dexamethasone and corticosteroids together will be injected in your inside surface of the mouth where bands have been formed which prevents your mou...more
