Levolin Plus Syrup is a multi-medicated medication, thus works via multiple mechanisms. Firstly, it as an agent that causes diffusion of thick mucus. Uncontrolled quantity of nitric oxide (NO) is related to inflammation and other kinds of disruptions of the functioning of the airways. Levolin Plus Syrup inhibits the activation of guanylate cyclase which is nitric oxide-dependent. Secondly, it acts as a β2 andrenergic receptor that results in an increase of cyclic AMP. Increased AMP leads to activation of protein kinase A which again prevents phosphorylation of myosin. All this mechanism leads to the relaxation of smooth muscles. And lastly, it as an expectorant which reduces adhesiveness and surface tension of congealed mucous in the upper respiratory tract to increase the flow of mucous, stimulating and increasing efficiency of the cilia to remove the accumulated mucous.
Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.
