In case of epilepsy since you are on meds for 3 years, if the seizures are completely controlled and eeg is normal, a trial of gradual taper of medicines can be given. But always taper medicines after consulting your neurologist. And there is always a chance of recurrence so that risk has to be borne in mind.

Dear lybrate-user,
please visit your doctor often and discuss the changes you need to make. Both lamotrigine and fludac will be increased according to the assessment on that visit. In bipolar disorder. The mood changes from low to normal and high. At times, even mixed phase will be there. Accordingly the fludac will be increased or stopped, an anti-psychotic may be added for short term. Lamotrigine will be continuous for all phases of mood.

Dear Djeapriya,
Bipolar disorder is a lifelong disorder. Your daughter needs to be on lithium and/or lamotrigine for a long time. Right now, she is in a manic phase. You have experienced it before. Definitely with serum lithium 0.8 mE/l, it will be mild. By your earlier experience, you must be knowing how long it takes for her to come to normal mood. This episode also will take the same number of days. With quetiapine 300 mg it will be milder also. Please remember that lamotrigine 200 mg/day...more

Suicidal tendency is a serious sign of depression and in your own interest, you have to consult a psychiatrist .if you feel depressed, it's best to do something about it — depression doesn't just go away on its own. In addition to getting help from a doctor or therapist, here are 5 things you can do to feel better. And if these are not useful you need antidepressants 1.Exercise. Take a 15- to 30-minute brisk walk every day — or dance, jog, or bike if you prefer. People who are depressed may not ...more
