Both the products are same. The er refers to extended release, which means the drug is released slowly over 12 hours in the gut. That helps maintain a longer therapeutic level. It is beneficial more so if a person has any side effects like gastrointestinal disturbances if plain metformin is taken. Both are fine. Thanks.

Hello you need to take proper diet, exercise along with medicines to control sugar levels. May be insulin dosage need to increase. Follow this 1. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U should eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is your traditional food. If punjabi eat paratha, if belongs to south then take idli/ dosa etc. (preferably within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 2. Don't overeat 3. Don't take tea empty stomach.
